Walkers Deli was established in 2013 due to strong growth and success in the Cooked Meat sector.Previously Walkers Deli was part of Walkers Midshire Foods, established in 1996 following Samworth Brothers acquisition of Walkers some 10 years earlier.
Still based in Leicester, the business has the very highest technical safety standards with a Tesco Product Integrity Unit Blue rating and a British Retail Consortium Grade ‘A’ accreditation.

Walkers Deli delivers a superb range of hand crafted hams and cooked meats to our high street retailers and also to our sister companies across Samworth Brothers. We even manufacture a range of terrines ranging from simple to super affluent game and venison terrines. Our mouth-watering Christmas hams, such as fruit-topped joints of ham, terrines and speciality hams flavoured with items such as maple and vanilla will form the centre piece of any table and leave our customers proud and coming back for more. We deliver a traditional hand crafted product using 100% British Pork, in the main from animals that have been bred outdoors to the highest welfare standards. All of our beef and chicken is British.
Our people are our passion. With our long serving and loyal team members we deliver a consistently high quality product when our customers want it. Over 75% of our team of 387 strong have worked with us for over five years. We offer training and development to all, to allow our people to get satisfaction and reward from doing a job well and we also listen to their expert opinion on how we can get better every day. People development and engagement are at the heart of our business.
Community & environment
We are actively involved in our local community, supporting literacy and interview technique programmes in local schools. We also champion fundraising activities for local charitable organisations, including Rainbows Hospice for Children in Loughborough, Macmillan Nurses and the Loros Hospice. We are also keen to continuously improve our environment and cooperate sustainably and recently by working on boiler efficiency project lead by our site team we have reduced our annual gas consumption by 39%, saving over 5000 Kg / CO2 per year. We have diverted all waste from land-fill since 2010 and are continuously working towards new technologies and ways of handling our waste streams.

Reporting to the Technical Services & Process Development Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with NPD, Technical, Operations and Purchasing Departments ensuring that ingredients and finished products meet agreed specifications/customer requirements.
