Olympic Triathlon Champions Alistair and Jonny Brownlee have visited Samworth Brothers businesses in Cornwall to support the 2015 Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge.
The brothers met many Cornwall based Charity Challenge team members at Ginsters and Kensey Foods and shared some much needed training tips. The 2015 event, over two weekends this June, will be the fifth Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge event with over £1.1 million raised to date for a variety of charities and good causes.
Alistair and Jonny also took part in a ‘Fun Run’ to the top of iconic Kit Hill (right), near Callington with Challenge team members and a group of children from Callington Community College. "It was great to experience the Kit Hill run for the first time and to meet some very enthusiastic Cornish runners”, said Olympic and Commonwealth Gold Medal winner Alistair.   “Jonny and I went to the last Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge in 2013 and they are fantastic events, that really encourage people to get outside and exercise and also raise lots of money for charity”.   The brothers also enjoyed a tour of the Ginsters bakery.
As well as visiting the last Challenge in 2013 the brothers have also been closely involved in the development of the 2015 Challenge advising on potential locations and training.   The 2015 event will be in mid Wales.
