This year’s British Pie Awards, which took place in Melton Mowbray during National Pie Week were a great success for Dickinson & Morris and Walker & Son.

This year’s British Pie Awards, which took place in Melton Mowbray during National Pie Week were a great success for Dickinson & Morris and Walker & Son.

The Speciality Class, which encouraged pie makers to create a show-stopping pie fit for Her Majesty the Queens 90th birthday celebrations, was a clean sweep for Walker & Son.  The site won class winner with its Victorian Corset Pork & Chicken Pie, and also scooped Highly commended for its Royal Stamp of Approval Pork Pie and its Three Tiered Regal Pie.

Dickinson & Morris was crowned class winner in the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie category for its Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, while Walker & Son also scooped class wins in the Pork Pie category for its Tesco Finest Extra Large Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, and in the Chicken & Other Meat Pie category for its Chicken, Bacon and Mushroom Pie.  

Walker & Son also received Highly Commended in the Savoury Pie category for its M&S Fluted Oval Pork & Chicken Layered Pie and its Tesco Ultimate Pork Pie, and in the Pork Pie category for its Pork & Egg Pie.
