Walker & Son was founded in Leicester 1820 and was the original creator of the famous snacks brand. Samworth Brothers acquired the business in 1986 and built Walkers Charnwood Bakery in 1989.

Our business is an award winning market leader in the production of high quality own label and branded pies, and is one of the country's few bakeries specialising in the production of the Authentic Melton Mowbray Pork Pie. We are proud to be one of the founding members of the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association (www.mmppa.co.uk) which was granted Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status in 2009, for the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie.

Unique to our business is Abbey Bakery. On the original site of Walkers Charnwood Bakery, every day, the dedicated team expertly produce 40 tonnes of the highest quality pastry for Walkers Charnwood Bakery.
