Melton Foods' purpose built site stands in 13 acres of and was opened in April 1998 to meet the increasing demand for sandwiches. Technical integrity and manufacturing excellence has enabled the business to grow rapidly where quality people make quality products.

Melton Foods is the sole supplier to Waitrose and also manufactures for the highly successful Ginsters brand and a number of Food Service outlets.

The business is clearly focussed on producing sandwiches to exacting standards with over 100 varieties made each day. Conventional favourites feature alongside exciting and contemporary products such as crostini, foccacia and bruschetta. Pasta salads have also recently been added to the product portfolio.

Melton Foods' close relationship with their staff is typical of the people orientated ethos of the group. The company holds regular focus groups with employees from all departments and shifts discussing such topical business issues as quality, communication and training. Regular formal briefings enable all employees to have an insight into the business.

Accreditations gained include Investors in People, EFSIS, Soil Association Organic Standard and British Sandwich Association.
