Samworth Brothers Distribution provides an extensive range of temperature controlled distribution services to the manufacturing sites of the Samworth Brothers Group as well as many external customers.

The company was established in 1998 when phenomenal growth of the Group put excessive pressure on its existing distribution services and as a result two purpose-built distribution sites were located in Leicestershire and Cornwall. Each site incorporates chill chamber space for picking, vehicle maintenance facilities and office accommodation. A third consolidation site at Bristol has recently been opened.

The business operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day, with a fleet of just under 100 articulated vehicles, collectively covering over fourteen million miles each year. The three warehouses will handle over 40 million cases of product and will deliver to Samworth Brothers' customers and a number of third party customers at destinations from Aberdeen to Penzance.

The business is headed up by a team with over 70 years' experience and supported by a very loyal workforce. A significant number of employees have at least ten years' service, with a number now completing 30 years' service, all with companies of the Samworth Brothers Group.

Samworth Brothers Distribution is extremely proud of the high service levels which it affords to its customers. It is the number one on-time supplier to its largest customer. On many occasions customers have been very complimentary to the distribution team on their exemplary service record. All of this is achieved through a delicate balancing act with the manufacturing sites, who benefit from the flexibilty of having an in-house distribution partner.
