At Samworth Brothers we have a close eye on reducing the impact of our businesses on the environment. Continuously investing in new processes and technologies that will help minimise the effects of our activities, now and for the future.

We are committed to reducing our consumption of energy and water, minimising and recycling our waste from manufacturing and to empowering our people with this ethos. A few examples of our ongoing environmental projects are:

  • Reducing food miles by sourcing local produce;
  • Reducing carbon emissions by training all of our distribution drivers to get the best fuel consumption out of their vehicles; 
  • Reducing electricity consumption by switching to LED lighting and installing natural lighting sun tubes;
  • Recycling waste from food production; and,
  • Recovering heat from refrigeration systems to heat water.
