Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards
Congratulations to Wojciech Kalinowski, Bradgate Bakery who scooped up the Young Talent of the Year Award in the FMEAs. Competing in a category with five equally worthy winners, Wojciech had that extra bit of excellence. Speaking about how it felt winning he said; “It was very overwhelming; I didn’t expect to win as it looked like I had serious competition. Coming back into work, the reception has been amazing; it makes me feel very proud to be part of the Bradgate Team.”

Well Done to Ginsters for picking up not one but two awards on the evening; Bakery Manufacturing Company of the Year and Supply Chain Initiative of the Year for the second year running.  The FMEA Awards’ Independent judging panel – led by Paul Wilkinson Chair of National Skills Academy – praised Ginsters’ thorough approach to improving its business operations year-on-year with a focus on local sourcing and sustainability.

Kieran Hemsworth, Ginsters Managing Director, said: - “Both these awards recognise the hard work and dedication of all our teams. We were particularly pleased that the judges acknowledged our contribution to the local economy and our commitment to quality and local sourcing.  This award is a reflection of the great team of people we have at Ginsters.

Quality Food Awards
Walker & Son, Bradgate Bakery, Walkers Deli, and Kensey Foods were all recognised at this year’s Quality Food Awards which celebrate some of the most innovative and best quality products in UK grocery outlets.
Walker & Son won the Quiches, Pies & Pasties category with its Fluted Pork Pie. Ian Heircock, Walkers Master Pie Maker, said: - “It’s wonderful to see such an established product with its great heritage being recognised at the Q awards for its consistent quality and taste. If it’s not broke don’t change it”.
There were also commendations for Walkers Deli for its Tesco Finest Wiltshire Ham Hock Terrine with Piccalilli Jelly, Kensey Foods for its Tesco Finest Heritage Raspberry & Almond Tart, and Walker & Son for its Tesco Finest Mulled Cranberry Topped Pork Pie.
British Sausage Week Awards
Walkers Sausage Co took home two awards at the British Sausage Week 2016 Awards. They received silver in the “Traditional Premium Sausage” category with their Tesco Finest Pork Chipolatas. They also took home bronze in the “Best Innovative/Speciality Sausage” category with their Tesco Finest Limited Edition Brazil Inspired Pork Sausages.
