Samworth Brothers supports the Cosmopolitan Carnival

Samworth Brothers helped Leicester get into the carnival spirit recently by supporting a major cultural event in the city, the Cosmopolitan Carnival.

The Carnival saw thousands of people from across the city and beyond celebrating cultural diversity as Jubilee Square in the city centre came alive with live music, dance, art, film and spoken word performed by some of the city’s most talented artists.

There was something for everyone from a gospel choir, rappers, jazz quartet to street performers, drumming, dance and art workshops, as well as dramatic finale in the evening featuring film, puppets, fireworks, music and spoken word.

Samworth Brothers supported the event with one of its Coldcall vans offering carnival volunteers and performers delicious free sandwiches, cakes and mini pork pies throughout the festivities.  According to the organisers they went down a treat.

“Samworth Brothers is proud to be part of such a culturally diverse and talented city,” said Paul Davey, Group Executive Director, Samworth Brothers.  “To lend our support to such a successful and fun community carnival enjoyed by so many people from in and around Leicester, including many of our own staff, was a real honour for us.”
