About The Cornwall Bakery

The Cornwall Bakery is a Savoury Pastry Centre of Excellence with class-leading bakery capabilities.

It brings together our two long-standing and award-winning bakeries in Callington, Tamar Foods and Lynher Bakery, which are now operating as one centre of excellence under The Cornwall Bakery name.

Zero waste to landfill
We are a zero to waste land-fill site, with all our food waste goes to anaerobic digestion. We also recycle all our waste cardboard and always use fully sustainable palm oil.

Our business

Our products have taken honours in prestigious industry awards such as the British Pie Awards, the World Pasty Championships and Q Awards. Recent notable awards have included the Ginsters Original Cornish Pastry being awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the British pie awards 2017. In 2016 we were named as Manufacturing Company of the Year in the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards. We are also committed where possible to using British ingredients and sourcing from local farms.

Our People

We are a people focused business and employ over 900 people from our surrounding area. We place high importance on giving praise and recognition and we are proud of the loyalty of our people. Our own tailored award winning training programmes develop the skills of our people to meet current and future requirements of our business, from craft bakery skills through to technical operators, engineering apprentices and leadership capability.

Community & environment

Our business and employees are proud to support a number of charities, locally and nationally. We also work closely with local secondary schools to provide work experience placements every year to give them a flavour of working in the food industry and tailored site visits that support their studies.
