Each of our businesses also has links with organisations in its local community. Employees at all levels volunteer their time and the wide range of projects / activities they support include:
- Helping young people improve their literacy, numeracy and employability skills
- Supporting communities through practical group projects
- Supporting homeless people breaking the ‘no home, no job’ cycle
- Helping young people coming out of care progress onto the next steps in life
Examples of recent activities undertaken by staff include:
- Planting 50 trees
- Painting a mural in a community centre
- Donating gifts worth £500 to ‘Collect 4 Christmas’
- Helping three agriculture students improve their commercial awareness
- Giving a half day site tour and introduction to the business to four young people leaving care
- Taking part in the Interview Technique Project for 15/16 year olds (98% of the schoolchildren who took part said they felt more confident about attending a job interview)
- Painting and decorating at a school
- Transforming an outdoor pursuits centre
- Giving literacy support to local schools
