Our Higher-Level Apprenticeship programme
Samworth Brothers launched a new Higher-Level Apprenticeship (HLA) programme in 2018 and has seen participants thrive, making a strong start to their career by combining degree study with valuable experience gained in a professional job role.
The programme offers two routes, either Operations or Food Technical, and HLA’s work across different businesses over three 1-year ‘real role’ placements whilst studying for either a Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship or a Food Industry Technical Professional Degree Apprenticeship.
What to expect
Our academic partner is Sheffield Hallam University, home of the National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering, featuring in the 2020 Good University Guide for teaching quality, and currently rated 82% for student satisfaction. We know that our HLA’s receive the best support throughout their academic studies from a team who are as passionate about food, nutrition and health as we are.
During the three-year programme, our dedicated Early Careers team work with line managers and Samworth Brothers senior leaders to ensure our HLA’s are provided with all-round support for their individual and career development. All our HLA’s are assigned a senior mentor who will offer experienced guidance and coaching.
