“I first joined Samworth Brothers in 1996 as the first Placement Student, with a baptism of fire into pork pie production at Christmas! I went back to University after my 12 months’ placement and wrote my dissertation (with help from the Directors at the time) on Relationship Marketing within the company – achieving a First.
I had enjoyed my time at Samworth Brothers so much that I wanted to return on the Graduate Scheme and was lucky to get through the rigorous selection process and I returned in September 1998. The breadth of departments, categories and companies within Samworth Brothers has opened up many opportunities to me and given me immense experience.
I have worked my way up from my first role as a Cookhouse Team Leader, to a Production Manager, Planning Manager, Buyer and now I am a Commercial Manager at one of the sites in Leicester.
Samworth Brothers is a great place to work, and a great family to belong to. We are the envy of many people within the food industry. The best things about working here are the people and the support. Everyone works so hard to ensure the quality and success of our products, businesses and customers. We all have a common goal, and provide support to each other, with a few laughs along the way!
I’ve spent the past 20 years growing up here – long may it continue.”
