The Role 

The successful individual will possess good communication skills including good numeracy and literacy and be flexible in their approach to work and be able to work effectively on their own initiative within a small team. Daily activities include palleting, packing and picking. Applicants must also be advised that this role will involve lifting.

The Successful Individual – You will have the following required skills and experience;

  • Previous supervisory experience managing picking operatives in a fast paced warehouse environment (chilled food industry experience desirable but not essential)
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above Maths and English
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, especially Word and Excel
  • A clear and articulate communicator with fantastic spoken and written English, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Numerate and financially aware with an analytical focus
  • A good understanding of Operating Procedures such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points and Health & Safety rules
  • Must have a flexible approach to working hours i.e. there will be on occasion 4am or 2pm starts as per business requirements and the successful candidate will need to show initiative when planning work schedule
  • Full Driving Licence

Working Hours – 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days.  Main working days will be Sunday – Thursday (however may be required to work a Tuesday – Saturday / Monday – Friday shift as per business needs).  This role of Area Manager will be responsible for covering the AM and PM shift and therefore will be expected to be on call to be able to provide support for business critical issues.
