Based on a 10 acre site in rural Leicestershire, Melton Foods has been developing and creating by hand premium, high quality Food to Go and Entertaining ranges since 1998. We supply premium tier products to some of the major UK retailers and Food to Go outlets, in both retailer own brand and the UK’s largest sandwich brand, Ginsters. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and with almost 1600 employees, we are a major employer in Leicester. The Role
The successful Engineer will play a critical role within the bakery on the night shift. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader and working as part of a team, your responsibility will be to focus on planned maintenance and proactively improving the equipment and machinery to deliver engineering maintenance and processes to ensure that all production deadlines are met with the least amount of downtime.

The Successful Individual
To be successful in the role, you will have the following required skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Have a recognised Electrical Engineering qualification
  • Background in a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to work
  • Awareness of Health & Safety and other relevant legislation
  • Understanding of the importance of our customers and internal audit standards
  • Be able to comply with company hygiene/technical procedures and rules
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to feedback progress against agreed plans

Working Hours
This is a full time, permanent position based in Leicester working continental 4 on 4 off night shift 7.00pm – 7.00am
