Job title: Production Operative
Reports to: Team Leader
Based at: Kettleby Foods
Working Hours: 37.5 hours
Shift Pattern: AM Sunday 6:30am to 2:30pm & PM Monday to Thursday 2:30pm to 10:30pm (some flexibility required)
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
A Production Operative uses equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line. Production operators are responsible for ensuring the equipment functions efficiently and that all procedures work correctly. Depending on the department some Production Operatives may need to use heavy machinery such as Forklifts.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties apply to all Production Operatives:
– Must ensure that they maintain a high level of hygiene/housekeeping standards at all times.
– To ensure that any documentation/paperwork completed is legible, clear and accurate as this may be used in any of our internal or external audits.
– Be responsible for the safe running of the machines throughout the shift.
– Checking products for quality on the production line and informing the Team Leader or Area Manager before removing defective items.
– Depending on your duties, you may also move packaged items around the warehouse using pallet trollies or a forklift truck.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
You will need to demonstrate excellent hygiene and health and safety standards, be fit and able to work in a fast paced environment.You will also need to possess excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills, as there may be some paperwork involved in this role.
No experience is necessary, as full training will be given.
