We are currently recruiting for a Business Partner within Group IT to be based across our Leicestershire businesses.

Job Opportunity

At Samworth Brothers the IT Business Partner is the bridge between the business and IT. This is a multifaceted role, but at its heart it is about supporting our businesses as we face new challenges and ensuring the Group IT team meet the businesses everchanging needs.

This is not a classic IT role and we would encourage applicants from who have never worked in IT but can answer yes to the following 3 questions to consider applying.

  • Are you technologically savvy, financially literate and understand manufacturing and supply chains?

You will be responsible for ensuring that the business needs are understood and addressed by Group IT, support Group IT initiatives within their assigned businesses and are the owner of the activity roadmap for those businesses. In addition, the Business Partner is a member of the extended IT leadership team and may be asked to lead or participate in wider Group IT and business initiatives.

  • Change
    • Work with a range of teams as they solve their latest challenge in this fast paced and constantly evolving business.
    • Understand all changes needed and work with the businesses and IT teams to develop solutions and then drive these forward
  • Business Relationships
    • Build and maintain good relationships with the senior team and other key stakeholders at each business.
    • Be the point of escalation for all IT activity within the business.
  • Leadership
    • To work with the other members of the extended IT Leadership Team to support the operation, plans and strategy of the Group.
    • To lead or participate in Group IT and wider business activities as required.
    • Represent the needs of their businesses within Group IT and conversely, the needs of Group IT within their businesses.

You value others and their contribution and enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues. You will be flexible and adaptable to change. In addition, you will have the following skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong two-way relationships with key business stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking capability. The ability to develop strategies and plans for the long term development of capability.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong, written and verbal communications skills with the ability to present ideas and technical solutions in user-friendly language
  • Experience of delivering change
  • Broad business experience
  • Technology savvy
  • Financially literate
  • Understanding or experience of manufacturing processes
