Junior Development Chef

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Development Chef at our Kettleby Food site. This is a full time (40 hours) Monday to Friday position.

Saladworks, Kettleby Foods and Brooksby make up our Ready Meals businesses. From these Leicestershire based sites we produce and manufacture we range of high quality chilled ready meals supplying major retailers and branded suppliers.

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Development Chef to join us working across Saladworks in Leicester and Kettleby Foods in Melton Mowbray, available due to growth and new business. You will be supporting the commercial and new product development teams with concept delivery, from brief to handover. This will help us to generate new business and support existing customers by using creative and challenging thinking. This role will be based at Kettleby Foods. site but cover the overall meals offering.

This is about bringing passion for developing great food together with the commercial world of manufacturing to deliver high quality products within food retail environments.

The Successful Individual
To be successful in the role, you will have the following required skills, experience, knowledge and qualifications:

  • A passion for food
  • You will have a City and Guilds 706 Part 1 & 2 or similar
  • Experience working as a chef in a quality restaurant or you will be currently working in a Junior Chef role in Food Manufacturing
  • Excellent Numeracy skills and written English
  • Able to work to deadlines in an organised way
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • A determination to develop and learn
