We supply premium tier products to some of the major UK retailers and Food to Go outlets, in both retailer own brand and the UK’s largest sandwich brand, Ginsters. The Role
We are currently looking for an experienced QA Leader to join our team on permanent basis, working the AM shift on a continental 3s and 2s shift pattern.  As the Quality Assurance Leader you will audit, monitor and evaluate quality systems and procedures and provide technical support for the operational teams while maintaining and promoting technical and quality standards in line with business need and customer requirements.

In further detail your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Understand and apply the business Quality Standards ensuring company, customer and legislative requirements are met and maintained by setting standards and monitoring good manufacturing practices, applying HACCP principles.
  • Audit compliance against Quality Management Systems and GMP, raising all non-conformances against relevant standards with objective evidence enabling the operational teams to take the appropriate and necessary corrective action, to follow up and monitor completion of actions.
  • Complete product testing, organoleptic and micro testing against specific schedules or requests and assist the Assistant Area Manager/Assistant Technical Manager carry out full investigations including traceability for all out of specs results and customer complaints.
  • Support the Factory teams by providing technical support and advice, seeking guidance from the Assistant Area Manager/ Assistant Technical Manager on any technical issues e.g. CCP and pre requisite management, calibration of measuring equipment, labelling, raw materials, and traceability.
  • Work with the production teams on continuous improvement of technical control.
  • Support NPD trials and product launches, managing micro testing and product life assessment to ensure product is manufactured to correct standard.
  • Ensure all QA expenditure of consumables, calibration, microbiological & chemical testing is entered to the system to support control.

The Successful Individual
To be successful in the role, you will have the following required skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Experience gained within an auditing (QA) role, preferably within a food / FMCG environment – chilled food an advantage
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene or higher
  • HACCP Basic Level
  • Auditing Qualification
  • Understanding of chilled food short shelf life production from a Food Safety perspective
  • Good communication skills (including telephone)
  • Eye for detail
  • Ability to challenge
  • Ability to manage and develop staff

Working Hours
This is a full time, permanent position based in Leicester working continental 3s and 2s on the AM shift – 6am – 6pm.
