Why take part in the Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge?
Introducing Samworth House: A Safe Place to Start Again
One of the most powerful outcomes of the 2024 Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge has taken root in the heart of the Lake District.
We’re incredibly moved that Springfield, a local charity offering support to survivors of domestic abuse, has named its new refuge Samworth House – a tribute to the £20,000 donation made possible by the amazing fundraising efforts of our colleagues, customers, suppliers and partners.
Springfield has been providing safe emergency accommodation and specialist support to women and children in crisis for over a century. Thanks to the shared efforts in 2024, the charity has now opened Cumbria’s first dedicated safe accommodation for male survivors of domestic abuse – an essential step in ensuring that support is there for everyone who needs it.
Samworth House offers a safe and secure place to live, with shared kitchen and living spaces and access to specialist 1:1 support. Residents receive help with housing, benefits, legal processes and, most importantly, the time and space to begin rebuilding their lives.
To see the Charity Challenge funds helping to create something with such lasting impact is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together. We’re honoured to have played a part in supporting this milestone for Springfield, and proud that Samworth House will continue to offer refuge, recovery and hope for years to come.
