MIKE BAILEY RECOGNISED AS PMG BUSINESS RISING STAR APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR
Mike Bailey recognised as PMG Business Rising Star Apprentice of the Year
We’re proud to share that Mike Bailey, Packing Manager at The Cornwall Bakery, has been named Plymouth Manufacturer’s Group’s Business Rising Star Apprentice of the Year.
The award was presented at Plymouth Manufacturer’s Group’s annual ceremony, held in Plymouth, recognising apprentices who are making a meaningful contribution within their businesses and across the wider manufacturing community.
Mike is currently in the first year of a two-year apprenticeship in Operations Management. This recognition reflects the commitment and leadership he brings to his role, along with the positive impact he makes within our packing operations every day.
From driving efficiency improvements to supporting and motivating colleagues, Mike plays an important role in strengthening performance across the site. His approach is practical and people-focused, with a clear commitment to continuous improvement.
Having been part of Cornwall Bakery for 24 years, Mike’s decision to undertake an apprenticeship demonstrates that development doesn’t stand still at any stage of a career.
Speaking about the award, Mike said:
“After 24 years with Cornwall Bakery, I’ve learned so much about bakery operations, packing and leadership, but you never stop learning. The apprenticeship is helping me build on that experience, strengthen my knowledge and develop new skills for the future. I’m really proud to receive this award and grateful for the support from the whole team.”
Mike’s achievement reflects both his personal dedication and the supportive team around him. It’s a great example of how apprenticeships continue to build skills, confidence and leadership capability across our business.
