NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK 2026
National Apprenticeship Week 2026
Samworth Brothers is offering 24 new apprenticeship vacancies as part of National Apprenticeship Week 2026, running from 9th to 13th February.
The new roles will see learners join 239 current apprentices across the Group, taking the total number of apprentices learning at any one time to 263. Samworth Brothers is also introducing a new Level 3 Line Manager apprenticeship, building on the success of its Level 5 programme, where 18 out of 19 apprentices achieved distinctions.
Food manufacturing is a dynamic industry with great development potential and offers a range of diverse, interesting jobs with Samworth Brothers currently supports apprentices across 31 different courses, spanning engineering, supply chain, finance and operations management. Since 2017, the Group has enrolled more than 800 apprentices, with almost 550 joining in the last five years.
Clare Moore, Chief People Officer at Samworth Brothers, said: “Investing in skills is critical to enable us to continue producing innovative high-quality food safely and efficiently. We provide opportunities for good people to develop their talents, help them to improve their prospects and achieve their full potential. Apprenticeships are an extremely effective method of employee development. Samworth Brothers currently has almost 300 apprentices in fields from engineering and supply chain to finance and operations management, and we welcomed 124 new apprentices in 2025. We are extremely proud of their commitment and effort – combining their learning with on-the-job skills development. In 2025, 77 of the 110 colleagues who completed an apprenticeship, received a distinction, which is phenomenal.”
Samworth Brothers apprentices have won prestigious awards recently. One of our degree apprentices, Julia Karbownik, was named Midlands & East regional winner in the Business Apprentice Rising Star and runner up in the national awards for Make UK (The Manufacturers’ Organisation). Julia has also been shortlisted along with one of our engineering apprentices Gedrick Moyo for the East Midlands Chamber Apprentice of the Year award. One of our Higher Level Apprentices at Samworth Brothers Supply Chain, Daniel Boonham was named one of this year’s Cold Chain Emerging Leaders by the Cold Chain Federation.
