Samworth Brothers recognised in FTSE Women Leaders Review

Samworth Brothers has been recognised in this year’s FTSE Women Leaders Review, ranking 4th among the UK’s largest private businesses for its representation of women in leadership.

The independent review, which is supported by the UK Government, assesses progress in improving the representation of women on boards and leadership teams across the FTSE 350 and 50 of the UK’s largest private companies. The Women in Leadership indicator measures the proportion of women in executive leadership roles and among those who report directly to the executive board.

In the latest review, Samworth Brothers achieved 50% female representation across its executive leadership and direct reports, placing the business 4th out of the 50 participating private companies. The Group was also recognised for the pace of its progress, ranking 5th for the most improvement in women’s leadership representation during the year.

The business also performed strongly within its industry, placing 4th among companies in the Food, Drink and Tobacco sector featured in the review.

This recognition reflects the continued focus across Samworth Brothers on creating opportunities for people to develop, lead and contribute across the Group. Building diverse and inclusive leadership teams remains an important part of strengthening the business and ensuring it reflects the communities it serves.

The FTSE Women Leaders Review is a business led framework that tracks and encourages progress in gender balance at the most senior levels of UK business. Its recommendations aim to support long term improvement in the representation of women across boards and leadership teams.
