Success at the British Pie Awards for Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe
We’re proud to share that Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe has been recognised at this year’s British Pie Awards in Melton Mowbray, taking home an outstanding collection of awards, including 1 Class Winner, 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 13 Bronze.
Held in the heart of the Rural Capital of Food and hosted by the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association, the British Pie Awards celebrate the very best of British pies from across the country. Since 2009, the awards have recognised quality, craft and innovation in one of Britain’s most loved foods.
This year, Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe was named Class 3 Winner for its Stilton Topped Pork Pie, with its Chilli & Cheese Topped Pork Pie awarded Runner Up in the same class.
Made and baked in the heart of Melton Mowbray, the winning Stilton Topped Pork Pie brings together Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe’s classic recipe, made with 100% outdoor-bred British pork shoulder and belly, perfectly seasoned and topped with locally produced creamy local Stilton cheese.
The Chilli & Cheese Topped Pork Pie, recognised as Runner Up, offers a ‘swavoury’ twist on the classic. Built on a pastry base with sweet and spicy chilli jam, filled with seasoned pork and topped with mature cheddar cheese and chilli flakes, it delivers a little extra kick while staying true to the quality and care behind every pie.
