Vinita’s Work Experience at Walkers Deli & Sausage Co.
Recently, we were delighted to welcome Vinita to our Walkers Deli & Sausage Co. bakery for a work experience placement.
Vinita, who has just completed her first year studying Aerospace Engineering, spent time in both our engineering and office environments – gaining a hands-on introduction to how compliance and engineering work side by side in food manufacturing.
Vinita said:
“I’m really grateful to have had the chance to complete my work experience at Samworth Brothers. A special thanks to Tracey for the valuable insight in the office, where I gained knowledge into compliance processes and record-keeping, as well as how engineering data is monitored and maintained.
In the engineering areas, I’m grateful to Pinakin and Dharmesh for letting me shadow their work, from carrying out maintenance tasks to observing automated production systems in action. A highlight was how supportive and welcoming everyone at Samworth Brothers was, always taking the time to explain things and involve me in the process, which made the experience both enjoyable and educational.
The placement has strengthened my understanding of how engineering and compliance work together in an industrial setting, and although this industry differs from my own career aspirations, it was still a very rewarding and enlightening experience.
A big thank you to everyone I met at Samworth – I’m excited to carry these lessons forward into my aerospace engineering studies and future career.”
