SAMWORTH BROTHERS BIG BUILD CREATES NEW COMMUNITY SPACE IN LEICESTER
Samworth Brothers Big Build creates new community space in Leicester
An unused outdoor space at Team Hub in New Parks, Leicester, has been transformed into a community garden, forest school area and social hub through the Samworth Brothers Big Build 2026.
Over four days, colleagues from our Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire sites joined members of the Samworth family, Leicestershire Cares and volunteers from the New Parks community to bring the space to life. Guided by Splash Projects, they worked together to create somewhere local people can learn, grow and spend time together for years to come.
The completed space includes a woodland walkway, work benches and potting tables for hands-on activities, alongside planters and gardening beds ready to grow. Wheelchair-accessible planters will help more people take part, while a decked area provides a flexible setting for community events and activities.
The project brought together people with different skills and experiences, all working towards a shared goal: creating a welcoming space shaped around the needs of the local community.
Karen Holdsworth, Samworth Brothers Family & Community Engagement Lead, said:
“It’s been wonderful to see so many people working side by side, learning new skills and giving their time to create something for the local community.
“The team from Splash Projects have, once again, been great fun to work with and guided us professionally so that we were able to deliver the completed space on time.
“A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring the Big Build to life. We’re looking forward to seeing Team Hub make this space their own and watching it grow with the New Parks community.”
Supporting our local communities has long been part of life at Samworth Brothers. The Big Build is one way we put that commitment into action, bringing colleagues and community partners together to make a lasting difference.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy and skills to the Big Build 2026. We look forward to seeing the new space flourish as the New Parks community makes it their own.
