SAMWORTH BROTHERS SUPPORTS STRENGTH OF SPIRIT GAMES IN PLYMOUTH
Samworth Brothers Supports Strength of Spirit Games in Plymouth
Samworth Brothers was proud to once again support the Strength of Spirit Games Rehabilitation Triathlon, held at Plymouth Hoe as part of Plymouth Armed Forces Weekend.
Hosted by the Royal Navy, the Strength of Spirit Games brings together serving personnel in recovery and veterans to take part in an inspiring adaptive triathlon, with competitors completing swim, bike and rowing challenges across Plymouth Hoe and Tinside Lido.
Representing Samworth Brothers on the day were colleagues Melissa Copley and Sarah Perkins, who attended the event to speak with members of the public and veterans about careers and opportunities across the business.
Despite the very hot and windy weather, and a quick move into a marquee after the Samworth Brothers gazebo became a little too windswept, the team had a fantastic day supporting the event and engaging with visitors.
Samworth Brothers also supported competitors at the finish line with Ginsters sausage rolls, which were well received by those taking part. The business received several shout-outs and acknowledgements throughout the day, including over the event loudspeaker.
Following the event, Captain Josh Abrook RM, SO3 Recovery Ops Officer, RN Recovery and Resilience Margins HQ, shared his thanks with the team:
“Thank you and your team for attending the Strength of Spirit Games Rehabilitation Triathlon and for being such a positive presence throughout the event. The feedback I received for the sausage rolls was great, so thank you.”
The Strength of Spirit Games is a powerful celebration of resilience, recovery and community, and Samworth Brothers was pleased to play a small part in supporting the competitors, organisers and wider Armed Forces community.
